In the quiet town of Colonial Beach, Virginia, the life of 30-year-old Jereamy Jamaine Pierce was tragically cut short on June 9, 2024. The fatal incident unfolded in the middle of the day, shortly after noon, in the area of Franklin and Kintz streets. Pierce was shot and died at the scene. His death, a result of gun violence, prompted an investigation by the Colonial Beach Police Department, with assistance from the Westmoreland Sheriff's Office.
In the days following the shooting, a
suspect was identified as 29-year-old Timothy Edwin McDowney, a resident of Colonial Beach. McDowney, who is also known by the nicknames “Tim Tim” and “Yim,” was charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. After being sought by law enforcement, McDowney turned himself in to the police on the morning of June 17, 2024.
The community mourned the loss of Jereamy Jamaine Pierce, with funeral services held on June 27 at the Little Zion Baptist Church in Oak Grove. He was later interred at the Historyland Memorial Park in King George, Virginia.
