In the winter of 2016, a young man's life was tragically cut short on a street in northwest Atlanta. Deonta Evans, a 19-year-old male, was riding his bicycle on the afternoon of January 13th, just a block away from his home. He had just been to a store to buy a Powerball ticket for his mother. As he rode in front of J.E. Brown Middle School, shots rang out, and Deonta was struck multiple times.
