Betty Crouch James, an 86-year-old resident of Graniteville, South Carolina, tragically lost her life on Friday, May 12, 2023. Born in Johnston, SC, she had been a long-time resident of Aiken County.

The circumstances surrounding Betty James' death were tragic and involved a murder-suicide. According to reports, Betty James was killed by her son, 68-year-old Joe James, who then turned the gun on himself. Both mother and son died at the scene from single gunshot wounds.
