In the early hours of May 20, 2023, the life of 21-year-old Logan Nathaniel Markis Williams of Anderson, South Carolina, was tragically cut short in Clemson. Williams, a male, was discovered inside a vehicle on Old Greenville Highway with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers who responded to the scene at approximately 12:39 a.m. attempted to perform life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was noted by authorities that Williams was not a student at Clemson University.

An arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Khalill Rashaun Smith, also identified as Khalil Lamar Jenkins, of Anderson. He was located and taken into custody without incident. At the time of this arrest, he was also being held on unrelated charges at the Anderson County Detention Center.
