Death by Force

On January 23, 2024, 42-year-old Michael A. Simmons was fatally shot at a residence on Wallace Lane in West Ashley, Charleston, South Carolina. Deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call placed by 31-year-old Derek Rashon Johnson, who reported that he had shot someone. Upon arrival, officers found Simmons in the kitchen with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
