In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 14, 2024, the life of 44-year-old Kenneth Jones of Charleston, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. North Charleston Police were initially called to Meeting Street before 4 a.m. following reports of a possible shooting. A short time later, around 5 a.m., Charleston Police discovered a vehicle at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Street and Magnolia Avenue. Inside, they found Mr.
Jones in the back seat, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported him to the Medical University of South Carolina, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at 4:59 a.m. The North Charleston Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide. As of the initial reports, no information regarding any potential suspects or arrests in connection with the shooting had been released to the public. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death remains ongoing.
Family and friends gathered to mourn the loss of Kenneth Jones. A viewing was held on the evening of Monday, April 22, 2024, at Dickerson Mortuary in North Charleston. The following day, a celebration of his life took place at Zion Olivet Presbyterian Church, followed by his interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
