In the late hours of an autumn evening in Beaufort, South Carolina, the lives of two teenagers were tragically cut short in a wave of violence. On October 23, 2024, 18-year-old Ashi Mitchell was fatally wounded in a shooting that erupted near the intersection of Parris Island Gateway and Trask Parkway in the Burton area. Another young man, 18-year-old DaRhon Brooks, was also killed in the violent encounter, while a third individual in their vehicle sustained injuries.
