On November 10, 2023, 25-year-old Tednequa Tenice Moore was found inside a vehicle that had crashed into a pole on Casino Center Drive. The car was riddled with bullet holes, a grim testament to the violence that had unfolded. Alongside her were two other victims, 23-year-old Steven Dewayne Burts of Dundee and 24-year-old Deshun Montario Isabell of Tunica.
Tragically, Tednequa was pregnant at the time of her death, a detail that added another layer of heartbreak to the devastating event.

Less than two weeks later, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, the Tunica County Sheriff's Office announced a significant development in the case. An arrest had been made, bringing a glimmer of hope for justice to the grieving families. The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Deonte Carnell Taylor of Tunica. The charges laid against him were severe, reflecting the gravity of the crime.
Deonte Carnell Taylor faced a litany of charges, including three counts of Capital Murder for the deaths of Tednequa, Steven, and Deshun. The unborn child was also acknowledged in the legal proceedings. In addition to the murder charges, Taylor was charged with four counts of shooting into a motor vehicle and four counts of conspiracy to commit a crime.
