On December 22, 2023, a tragic incident unfolded in Ethel, Mississippi, when 42-year-old resident Martell Jackson was fatally shot during a party at Hannah Heights. The gathering turned violent as multiple groups exchanged gunfire, resulting in Jackson and at least two others sustaining injuries. Jackson was transported to Baptist Attala hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Attala County Coroner Sam Bell. An autopsy was ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
