On December 19, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a shooting occurred at Hannah Heights Apartments in Ethel, Mississippi, resulting in the death of 42-year-old Leotha Kincaid Ashford. He was transported to Baptist Hospital Attala Emergency Department, where he was pronounced dead at 10:04 p.m. An autopsy was scheduled at the Mississippi State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause of death.
