On March 25, 2024, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Hattiesburg Police responded to a shooting incident in the 1500 block of Country Club Road in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Upon arrival, officers discovered 15-year-old Jayna Lumzy unresponsive in the exterior stairwell of a complex. Despite immediate aid rendered by the officers and subsequent paramedic intervention, Lumzy tragically succumbed to her injuries.
