On April 28, 2024, Sherrelle Bassett, a 34-year-old woman from Yazoo City, Mississippi, tragically lost her life in an apparent murder-suicide. The incident occurred at a residence where Yazoo City police officers conducted a welfare check. Upon arrival, they discovered Bassett deceased with multiple gunshot wounds.
