In the city of Jackson, Mississippi, a sense of unease settled over the 2100 block of Gordon Street on the evening of April 28, 2024. On that day, 57-year-old Cesar Abrego, a local man, was outside his property when the sound of gunfire shattered the calm. Abrego was struck in what was later described as a brutal and unexpected shooting.
