On October 19, 2024, Shundra Chestnut, a 19-year-old resident of Kosciusko, Mississippi, tragically lost her life in a mass shooting incident near Lexington, Holmes County, Mississippi. The shooting occurred around midnight on Highway 17 North, approximately five miles outside of Lexington, during a trail ride gathering that was celebrating a school's homecoming football victory.
