On October 13, 2023, 17-year-old Franklin De Jesus was fatally shot at the Delta Hotel in Kentwood, Michigan. Officers from the Kentwood Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 10:15 p.m. and found De Jesus with gunshot wounds inside a hotel room. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
