In the quiet Princeton Estates neighborhood of Kentwood, Michigan, a tragic event unfolded in early January 2013, forever altering the peace of the community. David Bouwman, an 81-year-old male, and his 80-year-old wife, Vivian, were found murdered in their home. The couple, who were well-loved by friends and family, had been fatally shot at close range in what was determined to be a home invasion.
The grim discovery was made after a neighbor noticed signs of a break-in at their residence.
The investigation into the double homicide began on January 4, 2013, and quickly revealed the brutal nature of the crime. Along with the couple's lives, their Cadillac was also taken from the home.
