In the early hours of July 9, 2024, the life of 31-year-old Equayvis S. “Quay” Moten, a Black/African American male, was cut short in a fatal shooting in Saginaw, Michigan. The incident, which marked the city's 13th homicide of the year, unfolded around 12:45 a.m. in the 3300 block of Ruckle Street. Responding to reports of gunfire, Saginaw police discovered Moten in a driveway with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
