On January 28, 2023, Maya Morton, a 23-year-old mother from Baltimore, Maryland, tragically lost her life in a mass shooting incident while waiting in her car for a takeout order on Pennsylvania Avenue. At the time of the shooting, she was accompanied by her two young sons, aged one and three. The gunfire struck her vehicle, causing her to crash.
