On April 11, 2023, at approximately 12:40 a.m., deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting at Joker’s Bar and Grill, located at 2 West Baltimore Street in Funkstown, Maryland. Upon arrival, they found 38-year-old Erwin Bernard Redding, a resident of the Hagerstown area, outside the bar with multiple gunshot wounds.
