In the quiet neighborhood of Columbia, Maryland, the evening of February 8, 2024, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 67-year-old Perry Anthony Comeau. A male resident of Half Dollar Court, Comeau was discovered inside his home with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite a family member's call for medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into Comeau's death quickly focused on a suspect known to the victim. Howard County police identified 41-year-old Corey Conaway of Columbia as the alleged perpetrator.
