On February 27, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Landover, Maryland, resulting in the death of 11-year-old Mailyn Turks. The incident took place in the 6900 block of Stansbury Lane, where police were called to respond to a reported shooting at approximately 9:30 p.m.
