In the early morning hours of July 2, 2024, the life of 30-year-old James Page of Washington, D.C., was cut short by gunfire in Temple Hills, Maryland. Prince George's County police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 6800 block of Old Branch Avenue at approximately 2:40 a.m. Inside the home, they discovered Page suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the male's death quickly pointed to a suspect known to the victim. Authorities identified 23-year-old Damonte Isaiah Harris as the individual responsible for the fatal shooting. According to the preliminary investigation, the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Harris and Page.
After the incident, Harris fled the location, prompting a search by law enforcement.
Nearly two months later, on August 30, 2024, the Prince George's County Police Department's Fugitive Unit located and apprehended Damonte Isaiah Harris. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with first- and second-degree murder, along with related charges, in connection with the death of James Page. Following his arrest, Harris was held without bond.
