In the early morning hours of July 20, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet on the 2400 block of Loyola Northway in Baltimore. When police arrived at approximately 1:47 a.m., they discovered a chaotic scene with three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Among the victims was Alan Grant, a 30-year-old Black male. He, along with a 27-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, were rushed to area hospitals for treatment.
Tragically, Alan Grant succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead the following day, on July 21, 2024.
The Baltimore Police Department's homicide detectives immediately began an investigation into the triple shooting. Their efforts quickly led them to identify a suspect in the case. Within days of the incident, authorities publicly named Dominic Pressley as the individual they believed was responsible for the fatal shooting. According to some reports, the violence erupted following an argument between Pressley and his girlfriend.
On July 24, 2024, the investigation culminated in an arrest. Members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force located Dominic Pressley inside a residence in the 2000 block of East 31st Street. He was taken into custody without incident. Following his arrest, Pressley was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged with first-degree murder for the death of Alan Grant.
