On August 25, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 7000 block of Mandalong Court in New Market, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Sean Antoine Lange, of Arlington, Virginia, and 33-year-old Crimea Malita Baker, of New Market, deceased in an upstairs bedroom. Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, with evidence indicating they were shot around 1:30 a.m.
