On a late summer afternoon in Baltimore, tragedy struck, forever altering the lives of a local family. Ryan Patrick Cain, a 24-year-old Black male, was shot on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The incident took place around 3:31 p.m. on the 4600 block of York Road.
First responders arrived at the scene to find Cain suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Ryan Patrick Cain succumbed to his injuries and passed away the following day, on September 22, 2024. Another man, who was 42 years old, was also injured in the same shooting incident.
In the wake of the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department's Northern District detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Cain's death. Due to the fatal nature of the shooting, the case was handed over to the Homicide Division. To date, there has been no public information released regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in the death of Ryan Patrick Cain. The investigation into his murder remains ongoing.
