On the night of October 27, 2024, the city of Baltimore was pierced by the sound of gunfire, a tragic but all too familiar occurrence. At approximately 10:39 p.m., a ShotSpotter alert drew police to the 1900 block of West Fayette Street. There, they found 46-year-old Marvin Wooten, a Black male, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, but despite their life-saving efforts, Wooten was pronounced dead.
