In the early evening of June 5, 2023, the life of 17-year-old Malik Dontrave Fields, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The fatal incident unfolded near Washington Park, where a Juneteenth event had been taking place. That celebration, however, was concluded ahead of schedule due to a series of fights that broke out among those in attendance.
As people began to leave the area, the scene descended into chaos when gunfire suddenly erupted near the park's playground.
