In the early evening of June 5, 2023, a shooting incident in Milwaukee led to the death of 28-year-old Luis Daniel Fonseca, a Hispanic male. The event unfolded around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of 13th Street and Holt Avenue. In addition to Fonseca's fatal injuries, a 27-year-old Milwaukee man was also critically wounded in the same occurrence.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Luis Fonseca succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office later identified him as the deceased victim of the shooting.
In the aftermath of the incident, law enforcement officials took a 28-year-old man from Greenfield into custody as a suspect in connection with the shooting. The Milwaukee Police Department indicated that charges against the arrested individual were pending and would be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
