In the late summer of 2023, the life of Jacqueline Dawn Kadinger, a 39-year-old Caucasian woman, was tragically cut short. On August 19, 2023, in Fitchburg, a city near Madison, Wisconsin, Jacqueline became the victim of a homicide. Authorities were called to a residence on Rimrock Road where they discovered her and a man, later identified as 38-year-old Weston Schutz, both deceased.
The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Jacqueline's death was a homicide due to
firearm-related trauma. Schutz's death was also a result of firearm-related trauma and has been classified as a suicide. This tragic event was investigated by Fitchburg police as a murder-suicide. Court records indicate there were prior efforts to help the struggling couple, but ultimately, they were unsuccessful.
Jacqueline, known affectionately as "Jackie," was remembered as an incredibly uplifting and positive person who brightened every room she entered. Born on February 23, 1984, she was raised in Watertown, Wisconsin. Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being a mother to her son. She was a compassionate soul who never met a stranger and always showed concern for others. This was evident in her love for animals, which led her to graduate from the Bel Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in Colorado.
Those who knew her described her as being her best self when surrounded by family. She cherished creating irreplaceable memories with her son. Her interests included traveling to new and exotic places, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. Her family suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorials in her name be made to the Domestic Abuse Intervention Society in the hope of saving others in similar circumstances. A celebration of her life was held at the High Noon Saloon in Madison.
