On a Tuesday evening in Milwaukee, the life of Nicholas Howard, a 24-year-old African American male, was cut short by gun violence. The fatal incident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024, in the vicinity of 29th and Congress. When police arrived at the scene, they found Howard suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite attempts at life-saving measures, Nicholas Howard succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office later officially identified him as the victim of the shooting. The circumstances that led to the tragic event are still under investigation.
In connection with the shooting, Milwaukee police arrested a 68-year-old suspect. The case is set to be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for the consideration of charges against the individual taken into custody. Authorities have asked anyone with further information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
