On February 19, 2024, 81-year-old Susan C. Zittel was found deceased in her home in the Town of Elba, Wisconsin. Authorities determined that her husband, 85-year-old David R. Zittel, had fatally shot her before driving to Prairie Ridge Health in Columbus, where he took his own life in the emergency room waiting area.
