On Valentine's Day in 2024, a tragic event unfolded in Moore, Oklahoma, leading to the death of 31-year-old Tevis Malik Desan Chess, a Black / African American man. Chess was at the home of his girlfriend, located near Southeast 14th Street and Morgan Drive, when the quiet evening was shattered by an act of violence. The estranged husband of Chess's girlfriend, identified as Bobby Oliver Jr., allegedly forced his way into the residence by breaking through a window.
