In the summer of 2024, a fatal encounter in Tulsa, Oklahoma, claimed the life of 41-year-old Kenneth D. Taylor, Jr. The events unfolded at the Casa Blanca Apartments near 61st and Peoria, where a transaction turned deadly. A witness, acquainted with one of the suspects, later told authorities they had granted him access to the complex under the impression that he was there to sell a firearm to Taylor.
On that July evening, Taylor was seated in the passenger side of a vehicle when gunfire
erupted. He was struck in the head, and upon their arrival, Tulsa police officers pulled him from the car to render medical aid until paramedics took over. Taylor was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries a few days later on August 1, 2024.
The investigation into the shooting led to the arrest of one man, Joseph Green. Following Taylor's death, authorities announced their intention to charge Green with first-degree murder. The police also indicated that they were seeking two other individuals who were reportedly with Green at the time of the shooting and had also fired their weapons. While an arrest was made, a motive for the shooting was not publicly disclosed by law enforcement officials.
