In the small city of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, the life of 29-year-old Sara Marie Frye was cut short on the evening of September 13, 2024. A devoted mother and compassionate healthcare professional, Sara was found in her home with a fatal gunshot wound to her face. Her husband, 31-year-old Bradley Frye, initially claimed that his wife had taken her own life.
However, the scene that greeted responding officers told a different and more violent story.
Upon their arrival at the residence on East Beech Street, law enforcement officers immediately grew suspicious of Bradley's account. The home was in disarray, with a broken kitchen table and other signs of a significant struggle, which seemed inconsistent with a suicide. A particularly grim and unusual finding was that Sara's wound had been filled with petroleum jelly, further casting doubt on her husband's claims. As investigators delved deeper, Bradley's narrative began to unravel, shifting from him witnessing her take her own life to a new version where the shotgun accidentally discharged during a heated argument between the two.
The investigation uncovered a troubled marriage. Sara's own words, found in her journal, revealed her intentions to leave her husband due to his mistreatment of her. Family members confirmed that the couple had been experiencing significant marital problems, so severe that their children had been removed from the home for their safety. The evidence, combined with Bradley's inconsistent statements, led to his arrest. Bradley Frye was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife. He is being held at the Pottawatomie County Jail without bond.
