In the quiet community of Vancouver, Washington, the life of a bright-eyed 7-year-old Black / African American girl named Layla Stewart was tragically cut short. On March 12, 2023, Layla and her 27-year-old mother, Meshay Melendez, were last seen alive in the company of Melendez's ex-boyfriend, Kirkland Warren.
