In the late summer of 2023, concern grew for the well-being of Martin Baldemar Meraz, a 45-year-old White / Caucasian male from Outlook, Washington, after his family reported him missing in late August. The search for Meraz came to a grim conclusion on September 8, 2023, when his body was discovered in a field. The location was approximately three miles southwest of Granger, near the intersection of Tule Road and Plank Road, in the vicinity of Toppenish.
