On March 23, 2024, around 8:20 p.m., a tragic incident occurred in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Delayah Sims. Sims was shot outside her apartment complex on the 1800 block of South 15th Street. She was quickly taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to her abdomen and left forearm, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
