In the early hours of Saturday, May 4, 2024, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a North Burien neighborhood, leaving a 42-year-old man, Robert Miera Bautista, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The fatal shooting occurred around 1:00 a.m. in the 11800 block of 1st Ave South, near the Beverly Park area.
King County Sheriff's Office deputies were the first to arrive at the scene, where they discovered Bautista suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite their immediate life-saving efforts, which were continued by medics upon their arrival, his injuries proved to be too severe. Bautista was pronounced dead at the scene, his life tragically cut short.
The area on 1st Ave South between S. 116th and S. 119th Streets was cordoned off for several hours as Major Crimes Detectives began their investigation into the homicide. Authorities have not yet released any information regarding a possible motive for the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Robert Miera Bautista, and no suspects have been publicly identified or described. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to seek answers in this case.
