On January 4, 2023, at approximately 4:13 p.m., Dayton police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Banker Place, located in the DeSoto Bass apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds: 22-year-old Victor "Buster" Humphrey and 23-year-old James Anderson. Humphrey was pronounced dead at the scene, while Anderson was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A third individual, a 29-year-old man, arrived a ...
