Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Jamie Allen Crim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Madison Health, where he was later pronounced dead.
The following day, authorities arrested 17-year-old Nilen C. Harner of Springfield, Ohio, in connection with the shooting. Harner was charged with murder, and a handgun believed to have been used in the incident was recovered. The motive for the shooting remained under investigation at that time.
In October 2023, Harner, then 18, appeared in the Madison County Court of Common Pleas and entered a plea of aggravated murder. He was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years.
