On May 13, 2023, 53-year-old Gary McConaha Jr. was found deceased with apparent gunshot wounds to his head and leg inside an abandoned home on Hamlet Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. The discovery was made after a woman, searching the neighborhood for her belongings following a reported burglary at her home, came across McConaha's body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner later identified the victim as 53-year-old Gary McConaha of Garfield Heights.
The cause and manner of his death have not been released.
Born on April 9, 1970, Gary was remembered fondly by his family for his passion for fishing, practical jokes, being the life of the party, and his love for his children and nephews/nieces. He is survived by his parents, Gary Sr. and Beth Pillar-Poyer; his children, McKenzie, Delaney, Emmett, Zak, and Zoey; his grandson, Tydus Dial; and his brothers, Greg and Brandon. He was preceded in death by his sister, Trista. A private memorial was held by his family at a later date.
The tragic loss of Gary McConaha Jr. has left his family and the Cleveland community seeking answers and justice for his untimely death.
