On July 9, 2023, in Geneva, Ohio, 30-year-old Matthew Lambert was fatally shot during a confrontation at the intersection of Sherman and East Tibbitts streets. The incident reportedly began as a dispute over speeding and escalated into a physical altercation, culminating in Lambert being shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
