On August 30, 2023, Rickie Lamar Brooks, a 32-year-old resident of Akron, Ohio, was fatally shot during an altercation on Cole Avenue. The incident occurred around 5 p.m., and Brooks was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was quickly transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Another victim, 20-year-old Jaedin Ellis, was also killed in the shooting, found on a porch with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead late ...
