On October 5, 2023, 17-year-old Marcel "Dooda" DeAntoine Arik Martin was fatally shot while seated in a vehicle near the intersection of Rugby Road and Rodman Court on Cleveland's east side. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene. A 21-year-old man, also in the vehicle, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The Cleveland Police Department initiated an investigation, but as of now, no arrests have been reported.
