Damarcus Duffy, a 26-year-old resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, was fatally shot on October 21, 2023. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, specifically on Walnut Street near E. Liberty. Initially, when police arrived at the scene, they did not find any victims. However, shortly after, Duffy was transported to Christ Hospital by a private vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of healthcare workers to save him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Following the shooting, an investigation was launched by the Cincinnati Police Department. As part of their efforts, they gathered evidence and information regarding the circumstances surrounding Duffy's death. On October 23, just two days after the incident, police arrested 23-year-old Devonte Banks in connection with the homicide. Banks has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center while the investigation continues.
