On November 9, 2023, 63-year-old Marvita Annette McCaskill was fatally shot in the Driving Park neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. in the 800 block of Berkeley Road, where officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found McCaskill suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead at 9:08 p.m.
