On January 3, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Maple Heights police responded to reports of gunfire near North Boulevard and Cato Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a home at the intersection. Near the driver's side door, they found 32-year-old Christopher David Jones suffering from gunshot wounds. Jones was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
