On June 23, 2024, at approximately 9:54 a.m., the Preble County Sheriff's Office received a distressing 911 call from a woman who had discovered her parents deceased in their residence on Sonora Road, north of Lewisburg, Ohio. Upon arrival, deputies found 56-year-old Angela Hayslett with a fatal gunshot wound and her husband, 60-year-old Matthew Hayslett, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The couple had been living together intermittently at the home.
