On June 19, 2023, at approximately 3:51 a.m., Santa Fe police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence in the 4300 block of Camino Alhambra. Upon arrival, officers found 27-year-old Raul Rene Montejano Jr. unconscious with apparent gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 56-year-old woman also sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated and released.
