On August 28, 2024, 25-year-old Stoney Torres and 28-year-old Jessica Aragon were fatally shot in a residence on County Road 4909 near Bloomfield, New Mexico. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over $80 and fentanyl pills. According to witness statements, Torres and Aragon arrived at the home to meet Isaiah Brown, 21, who claimed Torres owed him $80 from a prior fentanyl transaction.
